30 Years of Quality
Ernest G. Crews Construction, Inc. originated in 1991 in Brunswick County, N.C., and has specialized in custom-building since 1994. Ernie has worked in the construction industry since he was 19 years old. He resides with his wife, Donna, in Ocean Isle Beach.
Ernie specializes in custom home building and has an unlimited residential general contractors license. He is a member of the Brunswick County Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders of the US. Ernie served as president of the Brunswick County Home Builders Association in 2006 and was also voted “Builder of the Year” by the Brunswick County Home Builders Association in 2006. He served on the Board of Directors for the Brunswick County Home Builders Association from 2008-2009. Ernie Crews was voted the #1 builder in Brunswick County several years in a row.
Our company builds within close proximity to our Ocean Isle Beach office. This area includes the golf course communities of Ocean Ridge Plantation, Sea Trail Plantation and Brunswick Plantation, as well as Ocean Isle Beach, Sunset Beach and the Intercostal Waterway. Due to the close proximity of every job site, Ernie is able to visit each project daily. It is a rare occasion to come into our office and see Ernie sitting behind his desk, but that does not mean he’s hard to reach.
Ernie and his subcontractors are in constant contact with each other. Our local vendors go out of their way to make building a new home a pleasurable experience for our homeowners. Many of our homeowners are building their dream home over a long distance. Our vendors and subcontractors do everything they can to make this as easy as possible. Our electricians, plumbers, HVAC installers, framers, roofers, masons and painters have been working with Crews Construction since the business began in 1991. By using the same subs on a continuous basis, Ernie has created long-standing working relationships between himself and the subcontractors. He takes great pride in ensuring each job is done well. If a problem does arise, you don’t have to worry about who is going to take care of it, as Ernie handles this personally.
Ernie’s profession is building high-quality custom homes, but his passion is creating happy homeowners. He is a firm believer in “word-of-mouth” advertising. Prior to building a home, Ernie provides a list of previous clients, bankers and business references to the prospective homeowner and encourages them to contact the people on the lists.
